The 40th anniversary season for your Buffalo Sabres will show them in a past light, or at least a past uniform. The team is reverting to their pre 1966 logo and to blue uniforms with gold and white trim. The team is hoping that the mojo from the past will help them in their current season.
With their early record sitting at 14-16-4, the team was hoping for more consistency but key injuries have hampered them. With team captain Craig Rivet out for over a month, the franchise was happy when he finally suited for the first time since November 20th and after 11-straight scratches. "There's a lot of good and bad emotions that I've had over the last month, month and a half, but tonight is not about me," Rivet said. "It's about me fitting into a team that I want to try to help these guys play better. I want to play better. Things are not going to happen in just one game, but I'm going to start with tonight to try to build some momentum. I'm going to give everything I have."
